It's such a crime ...Gilles belongs in the hall. It's such a crime that the Seals and Barons years are preventing him from getting in. 300 wins your in. 270 and he played on those teams. Guy deserves a break. Montreal playoff series was best I have ever seen from an NHL goalie to this date. If he had switched places with Bernie Parent or Ken Dryden he would have won a few Stanley Cups and been considered one of the all time great goaltenders. It wasn't until he got to Minnesota that he had a halfway decent defense in front of him. What a great and underrated goalie Gilles Meloche was and I so enjoyed watching him play.Joe from Renonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716938099798281001.post-2673914660340268552010-05-10T15:22:54.031-07:002010-05-10T15:22:54.031-07:00I sure remember seeing Gilles getting peppered dur...I sure remember seeing Gilles getting peppered during his days with teh Seals and Barons. He stood right in there and always battled. That had to be a shock going from the sunny Bay area of California to Cleveland where the winters along the shores of Lake Erie can be totally brutal..Mike35noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716938099798281001.post-4735391403167605612010-04-22T19:00:05.124-07:002010-04-22T19:00:05.124-07:00It's too bad Grundman did not trade for Meloch...It's too bad Grundman did not trade for Meloche instead of Herron after Ken Dryden retired from Montreal. If he had done that they might have gotten another cup or two. Great post on Meloche one of the most underrated players in hockey in the 70s.Robertnoreply@blogger.com
